Former Gov Deal Endorses Gary Black’s Run for U.S. Senate

Nathan Deal endorses Gary Black for U.S. Senate

Former Governor Nathan Deal Monday endorsed Gary Black in his campaign for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Raphael Warnock.

From his home in Demorest, Deal said Agriculture Commissioner Black represents the kind of leadership Washington needs.

“I’ve known Gary for over 20 years. We worked together for the entire time that I was governor. And he’s done a great job representing everyone in our state. That’s the kind of leadership we need in Washington. I support Gary Black, and I hope that you will also support and vote for Gary Black for the United States Senate.”

“Governor Deal has been a great leader for Georgia. He and Sandra are models of class, who approach public office with servants’ hearts,” Gary said. “I am honored to have their support and to call them friends.”

Black announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in early June.

Earlier this month, he rolled out County Coordinators for his “Team 22” grassroots initiative in each of Georgia’s 159 Counties.

Deal joins hundreds of elected officials and community leaders across Georgia who form a grassroots team of Gary Black supporters.

Gary’s “Team 22” has already organized all 159 Georgia counties with nearly 60 of them fielding a full team of 22 prominent supporters each.

Locally, David Burton is the Franklin County campaign coordinator for Black’s Senate race; in Hart County, it’s Barry Cronic; Virginia Beavers is Madison County’s campaign coordinator; Rabun County has two coordinators for the Black U.S. Senate campaign, Ricky James and Sam Beck; and in Stephens County, Black’s campaign coordinator is Mark Smith.
