Final Week of Advance Voting Begins Today

This is the third week of advance voting and larger numbers of voters are expected to turn out this week to get their ballots in early.

In the State races, voters are deciding on a U.S. Senator and U.S. Representative.

Voters will also choose a State Senator and State House Representative.

In other State races, voters in Georgia are choosing a Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, State Labor Commissioner, Agriculture Commissioner, State School Superintendent, Insurance Commissioner, and State Attorney General.

In Franklin County, voters are also deciding on two County Commission seats and a new County Commission Chair, and three Board of Education races.

Franklin County voters will also decide on whether to agree to the next Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST VI).

And there are two Georgia Constitutional Amendments and two Statewide referendums.

So far, advance voting in Franklin and Hart Counties has seen an unprecedented turnout but no long lines have been reported and both Franklin County Interim Elections Supervisor Traci Creason and Hart County Elections Supervisor Robin Webb say they’ve not had any issues with the voting machines.

Advance voting is available from 9a to 5p today – this Friday but there are no more Saturday opportunities to advance vote.

In Franklin County, voters go to the Elections and Registrations office on the Royston Highway in Carnesville. Over 200 people cast ballots in Franklin County Saturday alone.

In Hart County, voters are going to the Hart County Board of Elections office on Cade St. In Hartwell. As of Friday, 3,571 cast early ballots in Hart County with 346 absentee paper ballots returned.

Again, hours for advance voting are from 9a to 5p today – this Friday.

Be sure to bring a copy of your driver’s license when you go to vote.
