FFA Spring Plant Sales This Weekendat Franklin, Hart County High Schools

Gardeners with green thumbs…and not-so-green thumbs… will want to get out today and Saturday to area plant sales.

Both Franklin and Hart County FFA Chapters will be holding their annual spring plant sales this month.

Franklin County High School’s FFA Chapter is holding its annual spring plant sale today and Saturday at the new Ag Center on High Road in Carnesville today from 1:30p to 5:00p and on Saturday from 8a to 1p.

Offerings include bedding flowers, vegetables, herbs, potted perennials, ferns & more. Cash or check only.

Hart County High School FFA is having a one-day plant sale all day today from 8:30 am-6:30 pm.

The spring horticulture students have been working hard sowing seeds and transplanting plugs since early January.

They will have a variety of bedding annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, ferns, and hanging baskets.

The sale will be held at the new high school greenhouse beside the Hart County Board of Education.

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac “Good Friday,” is the day to plant in the spring to have a successful growing season.

And this year, Good Friday is today.

Now if you can’t make it to this weekend’s spring plant sales, more are coming up.

Emmanuel University will have their Spring Plant sale Friday, April 5 from noon to 6p and Saturday, April 6 from 8:30a to 2p.

The plant sale will be behind the University’s Athletic Center at 125 Lion’s Lair Lane in Franklin Springs.

The North Georgia Technical College horticulture program is hosting the college’s annual spring plant sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 15-18, at the Clarkesville campus greenhouses.

Cards, cash, and checks are accepted, and all sales must be made in person. Everyone is encouraged to come early for the best selection and variety.

The NGTC greenhouses are located at 1500 Highway 197 North.
