Father and Son Charged With Growing Operation in Banks County

In Banks County, authorities have arrested a father and son on charges of operating a marijuana growing operation.

The arrests came last Thursday at a home on Highway 441 in Commerce, according to Banks County Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt Carrissa McFaddin.

Investigators with the Banks County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the GBI North Georgia Regional Drug Enforcement Office descended on the home with a search warrant.

There, McFaddin said officers seized 19 marijuana plants and dismantled the growing operation.

Arrested was Timothy McDonald Sr. and Timothy Lewis McDonald, Jr.

McDonald Sr. was charged with felony possession of marijuana. McDonald Jr. was charged with manufacturing marijuana. Both have been released on bond.

McFaddin said the investigation is continuing.
