In Elbert County, a controlled buy set up by the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office has two Elberton women facing drug charges.

According to Lt. Terry Reese with the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation was opened into the sale of prescription drugs on Friday October 4th.

As a result of that investigation, Reese said officers were able to arrest 41-year-old Kathy Vickery of a Sunset Drive residence.

Reese said he set up a sting in which he posed as someone wanting to buy prescription drugs.

Vickery allegedly met him in the Ingles parking lot with a quantity of Percocet, a prescription pain killer, and she was arrested.

Also arrested at the scene was 39-year-old Angela McCall who according to Reese, had an active warrant outstanding for  a previous sale of prescription drugs to law enforcement officers.

Both were charged with one count of felony Sale of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, and were taken to the Elbert County Detention Center.

They were later released on bond.
