Early Voting Underway in Hart County for Magistrate Run-Off

Early voting begins today in Hart County for the April 16th run – off in the race for Hart County Magistrate Judge.

The race is between Thomas Jordan and Todd Townsend.  Jordan received 815 votes or 22.51% of the votes, while Townsend got 880 or 24.31%.

Seven candidates originally vied for the seat left vacant when former Chief Magistrate Judge Tony Wellborn died suddenly last October.

They included interim Chief Magistrate Judge Theresa Brown, Kay Sanders Ankerich,  Robert W. Cordell, Thomas J. Jordan, Joey Smith, Randy D. Tallent, and Todd C. Townsend.

After the votes were counted from all seven precincts, absentee and provisional, Thomas Jordan and Todd Townsend came out on top.

Early voting takes place at the Hart County Registrar’s office  Monday through Friday 8am-5pm through Friday, April 12th
