Early Voting Continues

Advance voting enters its second week beginning today and so far, voters have been lining up in both Franklin and Hart Counties to cast an early ballot.
Elections Superintendent Gina Chappalear says more voters than expected have turned out to her office in Carnesville to vote ahead of the November General Election.
Chappalear advises voters, whether they vote early or wait until Election Day to study their respective sample ballot ahead of time. “If they don’t know what is on the ballot, they are welcome to call. We can fax them a copy, put one in the mail to them, or they can go on the my voter page and put in there personal information that pulls up a link where you can go to look at the sample ballots. That is probably what I would tell most people, is to make sure you are educated about what is on the ballot because it is quite lengthy.”Early voting ends on October 31st and there will be one Saturday voting day this Saturday, October 25th from 8a to 4p.
Chappalear also reminds voters to make sure they bring a valid photo ID with them to vote.
Valid ID’s include a current driver’s license or current State-issued photo ID, military ID, photo employee ID, or Native American ID. If you don’t have a valid photo ID and need one, you can have one made free of charge at your local Registrar or Elections office.
Again, to view a sample ballot you can go to your local Registrar or Board of Elections office or go online to the Secretary of State Web site at www.sos.ga.gov and click on MVP which stands for My Voter Page.
