Early Voting Begins Today for Hart County Run-off
Early voting is underway in Hart County in the run-off election to fill the Hart County Board of Commission District 2 seat.
Early voting will continue through Friday, April 11.
“They do come to the Board of Registrations office, which is located on Cade St. in Hartwell across from the old Hart County Hospital,” Hart County Registrar John Stercho said. “We are open Monday through Friday from 8a to 5p and we are open during the lunch hour.”
Voters are deciding between two candidates in the run-off; Garry Hamilton and Frankie Teasley. Whoever wins the April 15th run off election will serve out the remainder of the late Dan Reyen’s term, which ends December 31.
They will then have to run again to serve the next four-year term, which begins January 1, 2015.
Four of the five original candidates for the March Special Election have all qualified to run in the May General Primary Election on May 20th. That means whoever wins the run-off will be facing three other challengers for the full four-year term.
