Currahee Art Show This Weekend in Toccoa

The Currahee Artists’ Guild is preparing for its annual spring art show in Toccoa this weekend.

The 24th annual show will take place Saturday, in downtown Toccoa.  Debra Hartley is the founder of the Currahee Artists’ Guild.  Hartley says the show will feature artists of all ages.

The main show will be located at The Studio and Phyllis’ Hair Works, both located on Doyle Street in downtown Toccoa.  And a separate youth art show will be set up under the covered breezeway, also on doyle street.  Both the youth and adult exhibits will be juried shows.

The youth awards will be presented at 4 p.m., while the adult awards will be presented at 5 p.m.  In addition, the Cleo Alexander Floral Art Competition will be part of this year’s show, with that art located in The Studio.

Besides the art, visitors to the art show can enjoy music from local musicians who will be playing along Doyle St.
Hartley said visitors will also have an opportunity to make their own art at the show.

The Currahee Artists’ Guild Spring Art Show runs Saturday from 10a to 4p and is free.
