Meantime, Georgia’s COVID mass vaccination sites are now closed but while open they were able to administer over 300,000 vaccinations to Georgians.

The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency closed out operations at the eight mass vaccination sites across Georgia on Friday, May 21, after administering 357,668 total doses of Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

GEMA/HS Director Chris Stallings said in a press release, “We successfully achieved those goals with the tireless efforts of the entire GEMA/HS team, and local, state, federal and private partners.”

In the final three weeks of operation, the sites began offering Johnson and Johnson single-dose vaccine, and administered a total of 2,731 doses. The total number of Pfizer vaccines given was 354,937.

The Agency opened its first mass vaccination sites on Feb. 22 in four locations across the state, and expanded vaccine access by adding five additional sites.

Last Friday was the final day of operations at the mass vaccination sites.
