Complaints Result in Franklin Co High School Drug Sweep

Franklin County Sheriff Steve Thomas said his officers will be back at the high school with K-9’s to do more drug sweeps.

Thomas said his office has had several complaints from school personnel, parents and students about drugs at the high school.

So on Monday, deputies and staff along with K-9 drug dogs did a sweep of the school and he said the dogs did have seven passive alerts, meaning the smell of drugs were present but no drugs were found.

That’s why he said his office plans to do regular, unannounced drug sweeps at the high school.
