Comer Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Murder of Danielsville Man

The family of an Oglethorpe County man publicly thanked Northern Judicial Circuit District Attorney Parks White and his team for securing the conviction of the man who murdered their relative.

Last week, an Oglethorpe County jury found Robert David Jordan guilty on all counts in the death of 27-year old Jimmy Lee Anglin.

Anglin was reported missing in November 2017 by his family.

Jordan was arrested in 2019 following the search and identification of a skull in a wooded area behind 4030 Comer Road, in Comer where he lived.

He was indicted on one count each of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and concealing the death of Jimmy Lee Anglin,

According to a report in the Oglethorpe Echo, during the trial, experts testified that DNA testing on the skull showed a positive match for Anglin’s mother and brother.

The evidence was combined with jail calls where Jordan gave directions to the suspected murder weapon a Stoeger 22-gauge shotgun, that was found in a wooded area in Banks County.

After roughly 45 minutes of deliberation, the jury returned with a verdict of guilty for all four counts in the trial of The State of Georgia vs. Robert David Jordan.

In Oglethorpe Superior Court last Friday, Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Malcolm sentenced Jordan to life in prison without parole.

White credited the exceptional work of Senior ADA Jeff Lee and ADA Ben Durfee along with GBI senior agent and lead investigator Mary Crawly for securing a quick conviction.
