Collins Named to House Committees

Doug Collins officialU.S. Representative Doug Collins will serve on the House Committee on Rules and the House Committee on the Judiciary in the 114th Congress.

This makes Collins’s second term on the House Judiciary Committee, where he will now serve as Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet.

Collins be one of the newest members of the Rules Committee, which holds jurisdiction over every piece of legislation coming to a vote by the whole House of Representatives.

“In the 114th Congress, committees are where we’ll be doing the hardest work in turning this country around,” Collins said.” I’m honored to be in a position to make Northeast Georgia’s voice heard as every piece of legislation makes its way through the Rules Committee to the House floor.”

“On the Judiciary Committee, I’ll be working even harder on ways to encourage innovation and intellectual property for the next generation,” Collins added. ” We’ll also be making sure that in President Obama’s final two years in office, we’re protecting the American people from his increasingly reckless regard for the Constitution.”

Meantime, Senator-elect David Perdue will serve on the Senate committees on Agriculture, Nutrition & Forestry, Foreign Relations, Judiciary, Budget, and Aging during the 114th Congress.
