Collins Makes Stop in Lavonia Today

Doug Collins officialU.S. Congressman Doug Collins will be in Lavonia today as part of a tour of Northeast Georgia’s  agricultural and industrial communities this month.

While in Lavonia, the Congressman will be speaking to business, government and civic leaders at a special luncheon at the Lavonia Train Depot where he is expected to talk about a number of issues.

After the luncheon, Collins is expected to take a tour of the AutoZone Distribution Center on SR17 in Lavonia.

Lavonia is one of a number of stops the Congressman plans to make while home for the summer recess.  Over the August recess, the Congressman plans to travel across District 9 to speak with local groups, visit one-on-one with constituents, and tour industry locations.

On Thursday, Collins will host two more Coffees with the Congressman at Java Joe’s in Clarkesville and the Java Station in Toccoa.  During those coffees, Collins also wants to hear from conservative groups who believe they may have been targeted by the IRS.

Later in the month on August 22, Collins will be in Franklin County to attend the Franklin County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting at the Franklin County High School Ag Center in Carnesville.
