Clinical Laboratory Services to Relocate Corporate Offices, Labs to Carnesville Industrial Park

A Winder company is coming to the industrial park in Carnesville and is expecting to have 150 jobs available.

At the Board of Education work session last Thursday evening, Franklin Springs Mayor and Industrial Building Authority Chair Lee Moore announced that Clinical Laboratory Services in Winder is planning to relocate their corporate offices and laboratory testing facilities to the Carnesville industrial park.

In a press release, Company officials said Franklin County’s central location, easy access, and neighboring technical colleges offer CLS excellent growth opportunities.

The Company expects to hire 150 people for both technical and administrative positions.

Moore said Friday the move to Carnesville is an economic boost to the County.

“We’re very excited about them coming to Franklin County. It’s going to bring 150 employees who are going to eat breakfast or lunch, hopefully, shop whether they shop at one of our stores or get fuel, it’s going to help our retail businesses as well as everything that goes along with our economy. So, it’s a very big plus for Franklin County, especially for the Carnesville area, right off the Interstate. We’re excited about bringing 150 jobs to Franklin County and into Carnesville,” he said.

Moore noted that could mean more people moving to Franklin County which would help expand the tax base.

“That’s the thing that we would like. We would like to have a great balance between housing and industry,” he said. “And if we can have great places for people to work we would love for them to live in the county as well. So getting a double bang for people living and working here is just a tremendous investment that they’re going to make because they’re going to spend their money in Franklin County.”
