Clarkesville Mayor Shooting Investigation “Still Open and Active,” Says GBI

More information coming now on the shooting death of Clarkesville Mayor Dr. Terry Greene.

Late Tuesday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation released a short update on their investigation.

GBI Public Affairs Deputy Director Nelly Miles issued a statement saying the autopsy on Dr. Greene has been completed but she declined to say what the autopsy results revealed.

Miles said the investigation is active and ongoing and investigators and GBI agents continue to work the case, speaking with family members about the autopsy results.

Greene was found lying on the floor of his Asbury St. home Sunday evening by Clarkesville Police.

He had been shot in the head.

Greene was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center where he died early Monday morning.

Authorities believe the shooting may have been connected to a domestic dispute Greene had had with his wife earlier Sunday.
