City of Hartwell Working On Image Rebrand

The City of Hartwell is asking citizens for their input as they work to rebrand their City.

Hartwell is working with the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute is leading the branding process to create a brand strategy that will help drive economic development and attract investment to the area.

Jason Ford Economic and Community Development Director for the City of Hartwell tells WLHR News, the City wants the rebranding process to be guided by public input.

He said ultimately, the process will result in what he calls a Look Book that will tell the story of the Hart County area and promote the community to both residents and visitors.

To come up with a logo and brand, the Carl Vinson Institute plans to develop the brand in phases.

Phase One includes public meetings and then the online survey.

Once the survey is ended, they will then do market research, demographic studies, and look at the current brand and brand position.

In Phase II, representatives from the Carl Vinson Institute will begin creating the “Hartwell Look,” which includes coming up with a logo design based on the survey and their research.

In the final phase, Phase 3, the Carl Vinson Institute will work to get the new brand and logo off the ground and offer customized implementation of the new brand, recommendations. They will then hold a Brand Launch Event at a date to be announced later.

Ford said the entire process should take about a year.
