City of Hartwell to Hold Tree Lighting Tonight

The City of Hartwell is celebrating the start of the holiday season, officially, this evening by holding its annual Christmas Tree Lighting on the Courthouse Square downtown.

Hartwell’s Christmas tree lighting event takes place from 5p to 7p.

In addition to lighting the town’s Christmas tree, Santa Claus and his elves will be on hand to hear the Christmas wishes from local children.

Adding to the fun will be a Christmas Village, holiday music, caroling, and Santa’s reindeer will also be on hand to meet and greet visitors.

Sponsored by the Hartwell Downtown Development Authority and Chamber of Commerce, people are asked to bring an unwrapped gift for the toy drive.

Then on December 11, Hartwell will hold its annual Christmas Parade at 4p.

This year’s theme is Gingerbread Lane.
