The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, with the help of deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, has arrested a Carnesville man after receiving information that he was sending obscene text messages and explicit photos to a juvenile.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, investigators obtained the juvenile’s phone and found multiple lewd photographs and text messages requesting sexual contact, all apparently from the same individual.

Shirley said using the information found on the juvenile’s cell phone, investigators were able to identify a suspect and make a positive identification of 53-year old Wade Wagner of 189 Chapel Drive in Carnesville.

Stephens County Sheriff’s Office investigators met with Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputies who assisted in the arrest.

Wagner is currently being held at the Stephens County Jail on charges of electronically furnishing obscene material to minors; use of a computer service to seduce, solicit, lure or entice a child to commit an illegal act; pandering a person under 18; enticing a child for indecent purposes, and solicitation of sodomy to a child under the age of 18.

Wagner’s bond has been set at $101,000.
