Carnesville Comes Together to Help Flood Victims in South Carolina

People in the City of Carnesville are rallying together to provide relief supplies to those in flood-ravaged South Carolina.

Beginning today, people can drop off donations at the Carnesville City Fire Department.  The Rev. Gary Ledford is pastor of Carnesville Church of God and came up with the idea.

Ledford said, however, this is not just a church effort.

“The timing was just right and we were able to get everything together,” Ledford said. “And we’re just trying to get the community together. When we deliver it, it’s not going to be from Carnesville Church of God, it’s going to be from Carnesville. This is a community effort. We can’t do it all, but we can do something.”

Ledford said the trailer has been set up at the fire department all weekend and people have already been stopping buy to drop off supplies.

However, he said today and Thursday are the main days they will be taking donations.

Ledford said all kinds of items are needed.

“They need bottled water, personal hygiene items like toothpaste, soap, shampoo, also toilet paper, diapers, anything like that that we can just put on a pallet, would be great,” Ledford said.

Ledford said the trailer carrying the donations will leave for a church in Hendersonville, SC on Friday where the supplies will be dropped off, sorted and distributed.
