Career Expo Today in Hartwell

The Georgia Department of Labor is holding a career expo today in Hartwell at Cateechee Golf Club. 

Organizer Danette Smith with the Department of Labor tells WLHR News you don’t have to live in Hart County to attend  the career expo today. 

Some of the companies that will be on hand to take resume’s and interview candidates include, Royston LLC, Lake Foods, Pharma Tech, AnMed Healthcare, Field Service Engineering, Ty Cobb Healthcare, and Tenneco. 

Royston LLC announced in December it is consolidating operations, which is expected to  create more jobs at their Hart County plant. 

Lake Foods is a new business that announced last month it is opening a new facility in an existing 62,000-square-foot facility in Hart County’s Industrial Park. 

They’re looking to hire 28 people initially.

And in December,  Pharma Tech Industries announced its plan to expand their manufacturing capabilities, creating 50 full-time positions and investing $8.5 million in Hart County. 

Other employers attending today include Athens Technical College, Davis Transfer Company, Dewtex, Eaton Corporation, Elite Logistics Services, Fanello Industries Inc., Field Service Engineering Inc., and First Quality Tissue. 

A number of community resource agencies will also be on hand to offer assistance to the job seekers, including Georgia Mountain Regional Commission and HomeSafe Georgia Program. 

On January 22nd the Department of Labor held a day long Job Readiness Kick Off in Hartwell, which offered job seekers various classes on topics ranging from promoting experience and skills via social media to improving your resume. 

Those who attended the the Job Readiness seminar  received  a ticket for early admission to today’s career expo and will have the first chance to meet with potential employers before the doors open to the general public. 

The career expo will be held  from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cateechee Golf Club in Hart County.   

Job seekers taking part in the career expo should dress professionally, bring several copies of their resumes and be prepared to interview on site.
