Brock Pleads Guilty to String of Burglaries, Armed Robbery

Keibran Brock1A Lavonia man, charged in a string of burglaries over a two-year period, has pled guilty to all counts and now awaits sentencing.

21-year old Keibron Brock pled guilty in Franklin County Superior Court Tuesday morning to eight counts of burglary, one count of armed robbery, one count of aggravated assault and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Brock was scheduled to go on trial Tuesday, but chose instead to agree to the plea just before jury selection was to have gotten underway.  Just before noon, Tuesday  morning, the jury was dismissed and Brock entered his guilty plea on all counts.

The crimes go back as far as November and December, 2011.  In those cases, Brock and two others, Charlton Cawthon and Qym Dashun Johnson burglarized four homes, three in Lavonia and one in Martin.

Johnson is currently serving a 21-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter, armed robbery, and burglary out of Stephens County.  Cawthon pled guilty and is awaiting sentencing.

Brock was out on bond for those crimes when he and Allison Gail Anderson went on another burglary spree, breaking into one home in Royston in May 2012, and five more in Carnesville and Lavonia in July 2012.

Brock again was out on bond on those charges when he and Lindsey Kaitlyn Ray, Emmanuel David Thornton and Christian Dakota Windsor broke into the home of an elderly man in Royston the night of October 22nd, 2012 beat him, shot him, and robbed him at gunpoint.

All of the suspects were arrested as well in that case and Brock was denied bond.

But in May, Brock escaped from the Franklin County jail and according to Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas, was found several days later in a home on SR59 outside of Carnesville.

“He was hiding in the attic of the home when officers entered the residence,” Thomas said. “He was arrested and taken to the Franklin County Detention Center.”

On Tuesday, Superior Court Judge John Bailey accepted Brock’s guilty plea on all counts.  Bailey tells WLHR News Brock could be sentenced as early as next week.
