Bowman in Talks to Buy MedLink Building

The City of Bowman continues talks with Ty Cobb Healthcare Systems to take over the MedLink building inside of the Bowman City Limits.

According to Bowman City Mayor Pete Gibbons, the city along with Ty Cobb own part of the building that MedLink occupies.

The city began trying to acquire the building from Ty Cobb in the last few months, and Mayor Gibbons says they are waiting to see how the situation pans out with Saint Mary’s purchasing Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center.

“Whether it is with Ty Cobb or whatever happens with that going forward. We are still closely mountaineering that situation going forward to make sure that we can keep MedLink open and operational”, said Gibbons.

A letter of intent was signed this past Wednesday by St. Mary’s for the purchase of the Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center.

Gibbons says the city has had discussions regarding a possible partnership with MedLink.

“We’ve had several talks with MedLink and their board of directors and they are very eager for a potential partnership with us as well. They are very committed to the city of Bowman and its people. We look forward to getting this resolved sometime in the near future”, explained Gibbons.

Some things that partnership could entail, said Gibbons, would be possible renovations to the building to provide a bigger and better facility for MedLink.

However, there is no current timetable in place for the city and Ty Cobb Healthcare to reach an agreement.
