The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating after a body was found in Eastanollee.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley says the discovery was made on Thursday, December 1. He says they located a body in a decomposed state. The Sheriff did not say where the body was found nor say if it was male or female.

The Stephens County Coroner’s Office sent the remains to the GBI Crime Lab for possible identification and cause of death.
