Barnes Pleads Guilty to Multiple Charges in 2017 High-Speed Chase

In a case made by the Georgia State Patrol, Keven Barnes pleaded guilty this week in Franklin County Superior Court to Fleeing and Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement Officers, as well multiple misdemeanor offenses, and received a substantial prison sentence by Chief Judge Jeffery Malcom.

On March 4, 2017 the Georgia State Patrol was alerted to a vehicle speeding, weaving over the roadway, and flashing his lights at other motorists.

Troopers attempted to stop Barnes, but without success and a high-speed chase ensued.

Troopers were finally able to stop Barnes’ vehicle and arrest him.

Northern Judicial Circuit District Attorney Parks White said Barnes’ criminal history included more than 60 arrests, and many felony convictions, including several prior arrests for fleeing from law enforcement officers.

Upon his release from prison, he will be banished from the Northern Judicial Circuit.
