Banks County Bank Robbery Suspect Identified

MITCHELL LOGAN REEVESA Maysville man is behind bars in Banks County charged with robbing a Homer bank.

Banks County Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt Carissa McFaddin tells WLHR News investigators have arrested 22-year old Mitchell Logan Reeves.

McFaddin said Reeves allegedly robbed the Habersham Federal Credit Union in Homer last Thursday morning.  Reeves was taken into custody after a 3 1/2 hour manhunt through the woods surrounding the bank.

All area businesses were in lockdown during that intensive manhunt.  Authoriteis were looking for a white male, about 5’9” wearing green gym shorts and a sleeveless dark t-shirt.

“We are so thankful for the assistance we have received from Hall County K9, Lee Arrendale K9, DNR, GSP, GSP Aviation, MCCD, and Banks County Fire/EMS,” said Banks County Sheriff Carlton Speed. “We would also to like to thank the selfless and caring citizens who brought all personnel water and checked our well-being. McFaddin said clothing believed to have been worn during the robbery along with a handgun were recovered within close proximity of the crime.

Additionally, the money that was taken from the bank was also recovered in the same area as the clothing and handgun.

Reeves is charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Tampering with Evidence, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Crime, and Obstruction of Officer.

Reeves is currently being held at the Banks County Detention Center awaiting a court appearance.
