Authorities Search for Suspects in Stolen Vehicle Case

The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for two men after a chase in Bowman ended in a crash two weeks ago.

It happened on April 19^th when a deputy noticed a Chevrolet Truck matched a lookout  Hartwell Police Department regarding a stolen vehicle.  The suspects failed to stop when the deputy tried to pull them over, and a chase ensued.

As the chase continued on Rehoboth Road in Elbert County, the driver lost control when he tried to make the turn onto Martin Road and crashed into a ditch.

The driver and a passenger got out and ran. K-9 units were called in and an extensive search was conducted, but the suspects got away.
