At Home COVID Test Kits Available Via HotLine Number

At-home COVID test kits are now being made available free and as you’ve been hearing can be ordered online at Covidtests.gov.

On Tuesday, District 2 Public Health announced they can also be ordered by phone via a new hotline number.

All U.S. residents can now order free household COVID-19 test kits by calling toll-free 1-800-232-0233 to place an order with the automated system.

Every home in the U.S is eligible to order 4 free at-home tests, tests will ship within 7-12 days.

And while you may have heard of health departments in some states, like South Carolina, distributing the free COVID test kits and N-95 masks, District 2 Public Health spokeswoman Natasha Young says Georgia county health departments are not handing them out at this time.

For free N-95 masks, local pharmacies such as CVS and Walgreens, are handing those out as they are available, according to Young.

Young said, however, that District 2 Public Health will continue operating PCR drive-thru testing locations in Forsyth, Franklin, Hall, Habersham, Lumpkin, Stephens, Rabun and Union counties.
