In Stephens County, a local industry is purchasing the Standard Register building on SR145 in Toccoa.

Last week, a company called, ASI announced it has taken over as the landlord of the 66,000 square-foot building.  The transaction took effect  June 17.

ASI is part of the GEM Industries group and plans to use part of the building for office and warehouse space.  The move is part of the company’s ongoing expansion underway at its facility in the Meadowbrook Industrial Park.

Standard Register, meantime, will continue to use its part of the building with no changes to its operations, according to officials.

Stephens County Development Authority Chairman Brian Akin says this is a move that benefits everyone that is involved.

“This real estate transaction is a win-win for both companies,” said Akin. “You have two very fine companies that are working collaboratively to address their individual needs and both are providing job opportunities for our local citizens.”

ASI Group President Peter Rolla said he is happy to have Standard Register as a tenant, while also providing his company with additional long-term capacity in Toccoa.

Rolla says the purchase also reinforces ASI’S commitment to the City Of Toccoa, Stephens County, and the State Of Georgia.

The ASI group manufactures and distributes washroom accessories, toilet partitions, and lockers all over the world.  ASI employs over 750 people, with the largest group being located in Stephens County.
