Artists With Disabilities Tour Coming to Royston Public Library

The Lavonia and Royston Pilot Clubs are co-hosting the Georgia Artists with DisAbilities art tour this weekend at the Royston Public Library.

Georgia Artists with DisAbilities, Inc. was founded by the Pilot Clubs of Metro Atlanta in 1985, giving disabled artists throughout Georgia the opportunity to display and sell their original art, as well as compete for awards.

Based on the awards given, artists may also have the opportunity to have their artwork displayed in a statewide tour and exhibit.

Many mediums of artwork are included in the show, such as pottery, painting, sculpture, woodcarving, photography, weaving, and others.

A special reception for the show will be held Sunday at the Royston Public Library from 3p to 5p.

The reception will have all of the art on full display, refreshments, and some of the local artists will be on hand to talk about their work. The artwork will remain on display through February 28.

In all, the Disabled Artists tour will visit seven communities across Georgia this year.
