Ark Family Preservation Center Close to $1M Goal, Says Founder

The Ark Family Preservation Center is very close to reaching their $1-million dollar goal for the completion of their new facility in Franklin Springs.

Speaking to the Franklin County Chamber Board last week, Ark Founder Dr. Beverly Oxley said they have raised $945,000 so far.

Last August, Oxley along with Ark board members broke ground on the site of their new facility on Springs Station Drive in Franklin Springs.

The new facility will be just over 4,000 square ft.

Oxley told the Chamber Board that last year an anonymous donor contributed $226,000 as a matching grant.

In addition, the fundraising effort has garnered just over $14,000 in grant funds.

The Ark Family Preservation Center serves families in Banks, Elbert, Franklin, Habersham, Hart, Jackson, Madison, Oglethorpe, Stephens, and White Counties.

Since 2014, the Ark has worked to provide supervised family visitation for children in foster care and in homes of contentious divorces.

Other services include parent coaching, family therapy, anger management classes, support groups for sexual abuse, survivors of suicide, and families with grief and loss.
