ARDEO Uncovers Drug, Weapons Stash in Jackson County Home

The discovery of a small amount of drugs in a vehicle in Jefferson last week led to a larger cache of drugs and weapons in the suspect’s home.

According to Assistant Special Agent Michael Marlar with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office it happened last Thursday, February 10.

Marlar said local police pulled over a vehicle driven by 29-year old Darkevion Dwayne Parrish, of Pendergrass at a QT in Jefferson.

In the vehicle, officers discovered Parrish was allegedly in possession of approximately 18 grams of fentanyl, one gram of heroin, and Percocet prescription pills.

The fentanyl had a street value of $2,700.00. The heroin has the street value of $125.00.

That investigation led to a search warrant at Parrish’s residence.

During the execution of the search warrant, approximately five pounds of marijuana, Oxycodone prescription pills, amphetamines, and two stolen handguns were seized as evidence.

The marijuana has a street value of $12,500.00.

Parrish was booked into the Jackson County Jail.

Parrish was charged with the following charges:

Trafficking Fentanyl
Possession of Heroin
Possession of Schedule 2 pills x3
Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana
Possession of a firearm by convicted felon x2
Theft by receiving stolen firearm x2
Reckless Conduct

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, and Appalachian Region Drug Enforcement Office were involved in this investigation.

Marlar said the investigation is still active and ongoing.
