Advance Voting Slow in Franklin County So Far

Just a reminder early voting continues this week for the March 1 Presidential Preference Primary.

Early voting runs through February Friday, February 26th.

Voters will be selecting their candidates for the 2016 Presidential Election.

In Franklin County, they will also be deciding on whether to continue the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax or e-SPLOST.

Franklin County Elections Supervisor Gina Chappalear says as of Friday 67 voters have come into the Franklin County Elections and

Registrations office to cast an early ballot and they have mailed out 41 requests for absentee ballots.

Chappalear says anyone who needs an absentee ballot for the March 1st Primary needs to contact her office as soon as possible.

In Franklin County, voters will go to the Franklin County Elections and Registrations Office in Carnesville from 8:00a-4:30p Monday through Friday to vote early.

In Hart County, voters will go to the Elections and Registrations office on Cade St. in Hartwell.

There will be one day for voters to early vote on a Saturday and that will be February 20 from 9a to 4p.

Chappalear advises against waiting until the last minute to request an absentee ballot however, because you might not get it in the mail with enough time to return it to her office before March 1st.

With Franklin County’s new Web site now up and running, Chappalear says voters can go online to get more information on the March 1s Primary and voter information.

The Franklin County Web address is www.franklincountyga.gov.

Then click on “departments” then scroll down and click on Elections and Registrations.
