Advance Voting Ends Today for Presidential Preference Primary

Advance voting ends today for Tuesday’s Presidential Preference Primary and there is no Saturday early voting opportunity tomorrow.

On this third week before the Primary, Franklin and Hart County voting has picked up.

As of Thursday morning, Hart County Election Supervisor Robin Webb said 1,230 people had opted to vote early with 45 absentee paper ballots returned.

In Franklin County, as of Thursday afternoon, 932 voters had cast early ballots at the Board of Elections office in Carnesville.

Absentee paper ballots must be turned in to your local elections office by 7p Tuesday, March 12.

There are now locked drop boxes inside the Board of Election offices where absentee paper ballots may be deposited if a voter chooses to drop their ballot off in person.

And as we’ve been telling you, while there are 11 Presidential candidates on the Republican ballot, and all but two have dropped out of the race.

On Thursday, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley ended her Presidential run and last week Texas pastor and businessman Ryan Binkley also pulled out of the race.

That leaves former President Donald Trump and US Air Force Reserve pilot Major David Stuckenberg still running out of the 11 listed on the ballot.

On the Democratic ballot, it’s now President Joe Biden Jr. running against author Marianne Williamson, who dropped out and then dropped back in again.

Minnesota Representative Dean Phillips also ended his bid for the Presidency Thursday.

Early voting ends today at 5p.

If you are waiting to vote on Tuesday, now is a good time to double-check your newly issued precinct card to make sure you vote in the right place next week and to verify that all the information on the card is correct.
