Local Utilities Remain Ready For Ian

With Hurricane Ian shifting to the east resulting in improved weather conditions for Northeast Georgia, Angie Brown, Director of Public Relations with Hart EMC says crews are still ready in case there are any power outages.

“All the guys are checking their trucks, making sure we have all the necessary equipment on board.  They’re loading up everything, getting everything gassed and ready.  We’re making preparations inside for any potential outages that we may have.”

Meanwhile, Area Manager Kevin McCraney with Georgia Power says they are also ready.

“We are prepared.  We’ve got the storm centers open at our corporate office, so they’re monitoring where our teams and our crews are at.  They’ll deploy wherever the need is at.”
