Carnesville Kicks of Festival Season Sept 2 and 3

The town of Carnesville is once again kicking off the fall festival season with their upcoming annual Fall Festival on Friday and Saturday, September 2 and 3 at Carnesville City Park.

Carnesville City Councilwoman Patsy Watkins is organizing this year’s event. Watkins says this year’s festival will feature some new events beginning Friday evening.

“Friday night is Cruise In and that’s dancing in the street. We’ve never had dancing in the street before,” she said. “Saturday is the fun day where we’ll have a talent show and a cake walk combined together. Second Time Around will perform from 7p to 10p. And the car show will be there Saturday. So it’s going to be lots of fun.”

Anyone can participate in the talent show. There will be gift cards for those taking part in the talent show.  Watkins also said they will have a number of new food vendors this year.

“We have fish and fried chicken wings this year. We will also have a Hawaiian pineapple drink vendor that’s coming. We have another bar-b-que that’s coming in. We will have pulled pork. We haven’t had pulled pork at the festival in over two years,” she said.

And it wouldn’t be a fall festival without rides.

According to Watkins, the fair will offer wristbands for $20 for unlimited access to the fair rides or you can still buy tickets to individual rides.

And there will be arts and crafts vendors selling homemade goods and as well arts and crafts.

Fair hours are 5p to 10p Friday evening, September 3, and 10a to 10p Saturday, September 4.

And 92.1 WLHR will also be there broadcasting live on Saturday.
