5th Suspect in Lavonia Armed Robbery in Custody

A fifth person has been arrested in connection with a recent shooting incident in Lavonia over the summer.

Lavonia Police Chief Bruce Carlisle said Monday that 17-year old Justice Princeton Cassagnol turned himself into Lavonia Police on November 18.

The shooting happened on August 26th when Carlisle said five people assaulted a Lavonia man with the intention of robbing him at gunpoint.

During the assault, Carlisle said the victim was shot.

Arrested soon after by agents with the GBI was 18-year old Derion Joheim Morrison of Lavonia who was charged with aggravated assault and Haley Elizabeth Shaw and Hannah Ruth Shaw, both 17 of Canon.

They were charged with party to the crime of aggravated assault.

A fourth person was arrested later and is identified as 22-year old Mario Walker of Lavonia.

Cassagnol is charged with Aggravated Assault and Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery.

Carlisle said Cassagnol’s arrest brings the investigation to a close and he thanked the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, for their assistance in the case.
