2022 Lavonia Boat Expo Coming March 12

The 2022 Lavonia Boat Expo is shaping up to be better than ever.

Sponsored by the Downtown Development Authority, this is the third year for the Boat Expo and a lot of vendors will be on hand to tell you about boats, and all that goes with them.

Susan Poole is coordinating this year’s event that is coming up on March 12.

“This is our third one. We had to skip 2021 because of COVID,” she said. “We have a wide variety of boats and accessories for people to enjoy recreation and year-round life on Lake Hartwell. Our boat dealers are bringing the latest models for fishing and cruising. We are also glad to have the Blue Ridge chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society,” she said.

In addition to boats, Poole said there will be other vendors there with boat and Lake Hartwell-related items for sale.

“We’re featuring new trucks and we will have representatives available to help people with onsite financing and insurance, a realtor to talk about lake properties that are available. We will have vendors to talk about boating safety and an expert angler. We will have lots of tackle to give away. We will also have all things related to dock and shoreline maintenance,” she explained.

Representatives from Tugaloo State Park and a boat rental company will also be there.

And if you’re looking for lake-themed decor, Poole says you will want to check out the art show.

“We have some satellite activities in relation to the boat show. There will be a multi-media art show at Sweet Combs of Honey on West Ave. There will be a pop-up market behind the Gazebo which will feature different items for sale. And we’re encouraging our local businesses and retailers to have special sales and deals to bring people into their shops.

Poole said there will also be food vendors on hand and several downtown restaurants will also be open that Saturday.

And 92.1 Lake Hartwell Radio will broadcasting live from the Boat Expo.

Again, the Lavonia Boat Expo takes place Saturday, March 12 from 10a to 4p on Main St. Downtown and is free.
