13 Killed on Georgia Roads Over New Year Holiday Period

It was a busy New Year’s holiday for state and local law enforcement.

The Georgia State Patrol reports that during the 102-hour holiday that began last Wednesday at 6p and ended at midnight Sunday, 13 people lost their lives on in traffic accidents on Georgia roadways.

Two of those fatalities were in new GSP Hartwell Post district which includes Franklin, Hart and Elbert Counties.   Details on those wrecks have not yet been released.

No word on how many traffic accidents were recorded statewide during the New Year holiday  time frame.

Over the 102-hour Christmas holiday, the State Patrol reported 14 fatalities, with one of those in the Troop B Toccoa Post district.
