Hart County Registrar Office Now in New Location

vote7The Hart County Registrar’s office is opening its doors in a new location today.

Last week, county employees moved the office from the Hart County Courthouse on the square in downtown Hartwell to its new digs at 182 Cade St.

Voter registration for the November elections is now underway and ends October 7th and early voting for the November election begins October 15th and runs through November 1st.  Voters will now go to the Cade St. address to register and  cast early ballots.

Interim Chief Registrar John Stercho said his office is now accepting applications for absentee ballots.  Stercho said he will begin mailing out absentee ballots on October 15th.

In  November, Hart County voters will be choosing a Hartwell mayor, as well as filling several city council seats.

The special election will also include the race for the District 3 seat on the Hart County Commission, left vacant when Brandon Johnson stepped down to run for Hartwell mayor, and two special purpose local option sales tax or SPLOST initiatives – one by the Hart County Board of Education and another by the City of Bowersville.
