11/11/13 – “Darla” – Shih tzu-Chihuahua Mix Puppy at Hart Co Humane Society
Darla
We received a call from the shelter about a pregnant Shih Tzu struggling in labor. By the time we arrived she had delivered tiny Darla, all we had to do was bring them home and the other babies would be born. Events didn’t go as planned and momma was rushed in for emergency cesarean.
We are grateful to have mom and a puppies survive. Darla and sister Delilah are 11 week old Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix puppies. While Darla has a slick coat, Delilah’s is wiry. The puppies are very sweet and social; they are also healthy and smart.
The girls are being fostered in a home environment with other dogs and cats. They sleep in a crate and are working to learn good potty skills.
