06/21/13 – Kittens, Adult Cats Needing Homes at NEGA Animal Shelter

kitten3It’s kitten season and the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter in Lavonia has lots of beautiful 8wk old kittens to choose from – from tabbies to torti’s, short hair and long hair.

All have had their first set of kitten shots and a deworming.

There are also two adult cats that desperately need loving homes.  The first is a young adult female Abbysinian who was given away by her owners in West Palm Beach, Florida, brought to Georgia and then dumped at the shelter.  She was even microchipped! Shelter staff tried to contact her original owners in Florida but they don’t want her back.  This sweet girl has no idea why her life has turned upside down and she needs a new loving home where she can stay the rest of her life.  She has been spayed and is current on her vaccines.

The second is a solid blue gray 12-year old female turned in by her owners who no longer wanted her.  She is not happy in the shelter cat room.  Cats can live up to 20 years or more with the right care.

Both adult cats would make wonderful companions for senior citizens looking for a nice pet but who don’t want the high activity of a kitten and do not want to walk a dog.

Adoption fees for the kittens is $45 and includes their spay or neuter and a rabies vaccine.  Please speak to the shelter staff about the reduced adoption fees for the two adult cats.

The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter is located on Bear Creek Road in Lavonia off SR17. Call them 706-356-5363.
