04/08/13 – “Bullet” – Black and Tan Hound

At approximately 18 months old Bullet has seen more hardship than any dog should, yet we don’t think a sweeter dog could be found anywhere. Turned into the shelter as a stray he lingered there as a black and tan hound mix until his time ran out.

Shelter staff turned to a rescue for help but they soon returned him, saying he climbed fences and opened gates and they couldn’t keep him penned up. So now it’s our turn and we are happy to have him.

It was easy to see he was underweight with a dull coat; it took until the next day to see the slight limp in his back foot. Our veterinarian diagnosed Bullet with not only both hook and whip worms but our poor dog has a bullet in his foot that cannot be removed. Yet all this dog wants is to have a friend. You see he was not trying to get away; he was trying to get to someone.

If you think you may want a new buddy and want to meet Bullet please call 706-436-0965 or email [email protected]. Bullet has been neutered, tested negative for heart worms, is up to date with vaccinations, been treated for parasites and put on preventative. He is a wonderful dog and will be a great new family member.
