02/25/13 – “Eileen” – Special Needs Cat at Hart Co Humane

Hi! My name is Eileen and this is my story:

I am approximately 2 years old and up until now I had been living the life of an outside cat. There was someone who provided me with sufficient enough food and shelter to survive, but no one would claim me as their pet.

With no person of my own I not only didn’t get spayed and vaccinated, I didn’t have anyone to provide the care I needed when my leg was severely injured. I hope that’s one life lost and the next one will be better. I am a lucky cat, I was left at a caring veterinarian’s office, where after spending some time with me the staff and a humane society foster family fell in love with me.

They decided to rescue me! My leg had to be amputated; I was spayed, tested negative for both feline leukemia and FIV (which is important since I’ve been living outside with other cats). I am up to date with vaccinations, have been treated for internal and external parasites and put on preventative.

I know my story sounds sad, but my pain is gone and my purr is back. I am a very sweet and loving kitty and I promise to be a devoted companion. For more information please call 706-436-0965 or email [email protected]. If you have an unaltered pet or know someone who has a pet in need, please stop by any of our local caring veterinarians to pick up an application for our spay/neuter program.

The Hart County Humane Society is a volunteer rescue organization. We receive no funding from any government agencies or other groups. We are a 501C3 non-profit organization. Donations are desperately needed to fund our foster/rescue and spay/neuter programs. Donations can be mailed to P.O.
