Week Three of Advance/Early Voting Begins Today

This is the last week of Early/Advance voting for the November 7 General Election.

Advance/Early voting ends Friday, November 3.

Voters in Franklin and Hart County municipalities are deciding on city council and mayoral races.

In Franklin County, all five municipalities have contested races.

In Lavonia, incumbent City Councilman Eddie Floyd is being challenged by former councilman Harold Harbin.

Lavonia voters are also being asked to decide whether to allow the sale of beer, wine, and alcohol on Sundays from noon to 11 p.m.

In Royston, Incumbent City Councilman Jason Phillips is being challenged by Wesley Fricks, Councilman Lee Strickland is running against Fletcher Hodges, and incumbent Councilman Wayne Braswell is running against challenger Tony McCollum.

Royston voters are also deciding whether to allow the sale of alcohol inside the city limits.

In Franklin Springs, Councilmen Bill Bell and Tommy Pritchett are running for re-election and Pamela Mayfield is also running for a seat on the council.

In Canon, incumbents Bill Brown and Bobby Locke are running for re-election and Ricky Minish is running for City Council.

In Carnesville, incumbent Councilwoman Patsy Watkins is running for re-election.

Vince Esposito, Sherry Cheek, and Gabbie McFarlin are also running for a seat on the City Council.

And Carnesville voters are also being asked whether to allow the sale of beer, wine, and distilled spirits on Sundays from 12:30p to 11:30p.

Franklin County voters are casting early ballots for municipal races at the temporary offices of the Franklin County Board of Elections on Hull Avenue in Carnesville – the old Carnesville Elementary School.

In Hart County, all voters are casting early ballots at the Hart County Board of Elections office on Cade St. In Hartwell.

In addition to the contested City Council races, both county and municipal voters are deciding on whether to pass Hart County’s next Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax or SPLOST VI.
