UDC, MILLAGE RATE, INTERIM COUNTY MANAGER ON FR CO COMMISSION CALLED MEETING AGENDA

The Franklin County Board of Commission meets tonight in a special called meeting with several items on the agenda.

First, the Board plans to hold discussions on how and when to move forward with the UDC Committee.

Commissioner Elizabeth Busby asked for the meeting at an earlier work session saying it’s time for the Committee to begin working on certain amendments to the UDC.

Tonight, the Board will meet at 6p to discuss the UDC Committee.

After that, Commissioners are expected to certify the 2023 Millage Rate after having voted to approve it at their regular meeting Monday night.

Franklin County’s rollback millage rate for the unincorporated part of the county is 9.0820 and 9.6630 for municipalities for 2023.

Finally, there is expected to be an announcement tonight on who will serve as the Interim County Manager.

County Manager Derrick Turner submitted his resignation on August 1 effective August 29 due to family reasons.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 6p at the Franklin County Justice Center in Carnesville and is open to the public.
