Two Hartwell City Council Seats Headed to Run-Off

Two Hartwell City Council seats are headed for a run-off.

For the Council seat to succeed Stephens Ayers, none of the four candidates received 50% plus 1 vote.

The two with the most votes were Debbie Henry with 253 or 40% of the votes and Richard Sheller with 156 or 25% of the votes.

And for the City Council seat to succeed Tony Haynie again, no one received 50% plus 1 to win.

There will now be a run-off between candidates Zach Adams and Jermaine Durham.

Adams received 212 votes or 35% of the vote and Durham received 253 or 41% of the vote.

The Run-off election will take place Tuesday, December 5 at the First United Methodist Church gym in Hartwell.

Early voting for the run-off will run from November 27 through December 1 from 9a to 5p at the Board of Elections office on Cade St. In Hartwell.
