Two Comprehensive Plan Public Forums Happening Next Week

Two more public forums will be held for Franklin County Citizens on the Joint Comprehensive Plan and one of them takes place Monday/tonight.

Adam Hazell with the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission (GMRC) is assisting Franklin County and the cities of Carnesville, Canon, Franklin Springs, Lavonia, and Royston with an update of their joint Comprehensive Plan.

The Comprehensive Plan is a state-required document that helps shape and coordinate local work programs for the communities.

The next public forums will be held Monday, July 22 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Gumlog community at Poplar Springs Baptist Church at 67 Poplar Springs Church Road in Lavonia.

Another forum will be held Tuesday, July 23 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Carnesville Community Center at 961 Hull Avenue in Carnesville.

The plan must be completed and submitted to the state by the end of October.
