Tours, Concerts, and Cars This Weekend

If you’re looking for things to do this weekend, there’s a lot going on.

In Franklin County, the City of Lavonia is hosting a living history tour on Sunday at historic Burgess City Cemetery.

Members of the Lavonia Historic Preservation Society will dress in period costume and offer visitors a look into Lavonia’s past and those who helped found the town.

The tour takes place at 2p at the cemetery on Sunday afternoon.  It will be followed by a special concert at the cemetery commemorating 150 years of Lavonia’s CSA veterans.

Music will be provided by the Shoal Creek Stranglers…refreshments will also be served.  Bring your lawn chair and come out and enjoy some good music and fellowship.

In Royston, car buffs will want to attend this year’s Royston Car Show Saturday at the Royston Community and Wellness Park.

The show takes place from 11a to 2p and will feature dozens of classic cars, along with food and live music.

Anyone interested in showing their classic cars, trucks, bikes or special interest vehicle is welcome.

And in Hartwell, the United Garden Club will host its first garden tour Saturday.

This year’s theme is “Soul and Soil in Hartwell” and will focus on tours of local church grounds.  The tour takes place from 10a to 4p and the cost is $12.

It will also include a tour of the prayer garden at the Hartwell Botanical Gardens and an art exhibit of local churches at the Hartwell Art Center downtown.
