Today is the Last Day to Register to Vote for November Elections

If you plan to vote in November and you have not registered, have moved since you voted last , or are just not sure if you are registered, you have until close of business today to get registered.

You can register in several different ways, either in person at the County Board of Elections office, on campus if you’re a college student, or at the Driver services office in Toccoa.

And if you haven’t voted in awhile, you might want to double check to see if you are still on your county’s voter rolls.

You can do that by contacting your Board of Elections office or just by going online to My Voter page on the Secretary of State’s Web site at: MyVoterPage.

Additionally, if you are a U.S. citizen who applied to register to vote in Georgia and received a letter from your county board of registrars stating that your application is in pending status because the Drivers Services’ Citizenship Status Records reflected that you are not a citizen, you will be able to vote by absentee ballot if you show acceptable proof of citizenship when you go to vote or when you request an absentee ballot.

This could include a U.S. birth certificate, passport, or naturalization papers, but there are other acceptable documents you can show as proof of your citizenship. You can go online to the Secretary of State’s office at sos.ga.gov and click on Elections/general/information for pending voters.

Meantime, Advanced (Absentee In-Person) Voting begins October 14 for the November General Election and ends Friday, November 1.

In Franklin County, advance voters can cast ballots at the Franklin County Board of Registrars office in Carnesville.

Royston voters will cast ballots at Royston City Hall.

In Hart County, voters can early vote at the Board of Registrars office on Cade. St. in Hartwell.
